Telford Borough Authority Receives $9.8 Million Grant from PENNVEST for Telford Borough, West Rockhill Township, Hilltown Township

HARRISBURG – Reps. Craig Staats (R-Bucks), Shelby Labs (R-Bucks) and Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) announced today that PENNVEST has awarded the Telford Borough Authority a $9.8 million grant for a crucial drinking water well development project.

This project will see granular-activated carbon filter vessels for perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) treatment installed for the system's drinking water wells. These wells are in Telford Borough, West Rockhill Township and Hilltown Township. These five systems will each require construction of a freestanding building or building addition at each well to house the vessels, as well as installation of associated accessories.

“It is incredible to see PENNVEST approve this necessary funding for the Telford Borough Authority,” said Staats. “This will not only improve the quality of my constituents drinking water in Telford and West Rockhill, but make the system run more efficiently as well.”

“I’m happy to support continued investments in infrastructure that improves our water quality,” Labs said. “This project will have a direct impact on residents of Hilltown Township that are serviced by the Telford Borough Authority.”

PENNVEST is a financing authority that provides low-cost financial assistance to address water, wastewater, stormwater, and non-point source pollution problems that impact public health, safety, the environment, regulatory compliance, and economic development.
