HARRISBURG – Rep. Shelby Labs (R-Bucks) and Sen. Jarrett Coleman (R-Lehigh/Bucks) announced today that $1.7 million in grant funding has been awarded to projects in the 143rd House District and 16th Senatorial District from the Pennsylvania Local Share Account (LSA) program.
The projects that have received funding are:
- Perkasie Borough will receive $652,886 for a project to renovate and update Kulp Park. This project will rehabilitate the existing baseball field to correct drainage issues, remove and recycle the backstop and fencing, and replace the field lighting. Additional park improvements will include the installation of ADA van-accessible parking spaces and construction of an assembly path from the ADA parking spaces to the baseball field. These updates will benefit the community through a safer baseball and multi-sport field, a place that is useable more quickly after rain, and an increased quality of life through less light pollution.
- Sellersville Borough will receive $790,725 to renovate the building that holds the Sellersville Museum. This project will consist of the removal of the existing slate roof, gutters, flashing and installation of a new slate or synthetic slate roof. The project also includes the rehabilitation of the bell tower.
- Bedminster Township is receiving $77,215 in funding to install license plate readers at two critical intersections within the township.
- Dublin Borough is receiving $83,983 to purchase and upfit a new police vehicle. This new vehicle will be a 2024 Ford Interceptor and will be upfitted with an automatic license plate reader.
- Perkasie Borough is receiving $107,415 for the purchase of body and in-car cameras for use by their officers. A total of 19 body cameras and 12 in-car cameras will be purchased using this funding.
“Investments in our community are essential for enhancing our quality of life,” Labs said. “I am proud to have worked with Sen. Coleman to support these investments which will assist our law enforcement in keeping our communities safe, improve our outdoor recreational opportunities, and preserve our local history.”
“The communities we represent have a wide variety of needs and that’s reflected in the projects that we’re able to invest in today,” said Coleman. “Investing in keystones to the community such as the Sellersville Museum and Bell Tower will ensure that future generations can come together to celebrate and learn about our shared history. We’re also able to improve our public parks and ensure that law enforcement can meet the ever-evolving challenges that they face.
The PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 2004-71), provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to support projects in the public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for these grants.
